Travel

Noah is turning into quite a confident professional traveler. He insisted that he go through the airport on his own. We just kept an eye on him and pointed where to go. He hauled all his own stuff. Not bad for a 3 year old. (Almost four!).

Exploring the Unknown

Weston is getting more and more mobile. And he's really taking advantage of his newfound body control. He climbs into or onto everything that gets in his way, captures and exploits everything that was previously kept out of reach by mommy and daddy, and destructively explores the mysteries of the world. Now that I think of it....Dishwashers really are mysterious creatures.

Preschool

Noah is growing up so fast. He is now going to pre-school! It was quite a big day when he grabbed his backpack and lunchbox and jumped in the car with me to go to school all by himself. He attends a little preschool in SLO. He loves it...."I want to stay here forEVER". When we drop him off he will just give us a quick hug and run in. No fear. He probably figures its his own personal kingdom.

Trick or Treat

What an awesome halloween. Amy and I dressed up as rugged safari hunters, Noah was a hippopotamus, and Weston was a giraffe. Halloween wasn't just a one-day event. Noah and Weston were able to wear their costumes for 3 days straight. There was a party at Noah and Weston's school on Thursday. A party at the church on Friday. And Saturday was Halloween....And halloween was an all-day event involving pumpkin-hunting at the pumpkin patch, a halloween cruise on the bay, some serious pumpkin carving, and eventually the grand finale of banging doors for candy.

Weston on the halloween cruise. (He always wanted to remove the hood-part of his costume).

Noah didn't really pay attention to the beautiful scenery of the bay. He was focused 100% on eating the popcorn they handed to the kids.

We headed to the pumpkin patch thinking we would find a couple nice-sized pumpkins. Then Noah found this GIANT pumpkin and wrapped his arms around it. "Mommy, its round and orange like the setting sun!". So we got it. It weighed a couple hundred pounds and couldn't fit in the trunk of our car (which is actually a very large trunk). So we had to put it in the front seat, and Amy rode in the back seat sandwiched between the two boys.

Carving this beast took half a day using a dry-wall saw and a shovel. It was so awkward and heavy that I ended up throwing-out my back from moving it in and out of the car. So worth it.

In the end, we had a jack-o-lantern that matched the size of our excitement for the holiday.
